The C.S. Lewis Academy soccer team suffered a 3-2 loss to the Catlin Gable junior varsity team last week.csla soccer.jpg (30357 bytes)
Seniors Ethan Headley and Devon Powell each scored a goal in the win while goalkeeper Jared Wright made 15 saves.
“This has been by far the tightest game we’ve played,” said Watchmen coach, Chris Guastaferro. “Catlin Gable has always been a force in soccer, and a game this close helped our moral. A lot of new pass patterns that we have been practicing have been utilized in the last two games. I believe that we’ve increased our level and desire to play smart.”
On Thursday, the Watchmen recorded their second tie of the season with a 3-3 deadlock with Columbia Adventist. Ethan Headley and Kyle Lyda each scored goals in the tie.
With the tie, the Watchmen’s record moved to 1-3-2 on the season.
