The C.S. Lewis Academy volleyball team fell to 0-2 on the season Tuesday
with a 25-16, 25-16, 25-17 loss at Willamette Valley Christian.
Mental errors were the contributing factor, said C.S. Lewis coach
Carrie Palmore.
Despite the losses Palmore remained positive about the team and the season
ahead.
Weve got four freshman playing and weve completely changed
our offensive and defensive strategy, she said. One of the best things is we
are able to start at the level we left last year, without having to start completely over
and thats made a huge difference in where we are. We are already able to do things
that last year we couldnt have comprehended, because we had such a wide range of
skill levels on the floor.
Palmore said its a big key that the Watchmen have younger players with
experience which gives Palmore a little more flexibility to move players around.
All of our freshmen have at least two to three years experience and
because of that were trying some new rotations and strategies we couldnt do
last year, she said.
The Watchmen return to action Tuesday with a 5:30 p.m. game at Southwest
Christian. |
