Student
hospitalized
after injury |
A head injury suffered in a physical education class sent a female Newberg
High School student to the hospital Friday morning.
The Newberg Fire Department responded, and the student was Life Flighted to
Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland at about 10:40 a.m., according to Claudia Stewart,
communications specialist for the Newberg School District.
The school district cited privacy rules for not releasing the students name.
Newberg Police Departments Battalion Chief Roger Gano cited her
altered level of consciousness as the reason the student was transported.
Stewart said the injury resulted in a concussion.
Stewart said later Friday morning that the students mother was with her
at the hospital, where she remained in stable condition. She will stay the night as a
precaution, Stewart said. |
