Sept. 5, 2007
Whelton, Mapes

   Amanda Whelton of Las Vegas and Jaime Mapes of Newberg have announced their plans to marry at sunset Sept. 29 at the Coeur D’Alene Resort in Idaho.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Joanna and John Whelton of Las Vegas. She graduated from the University of Nevada - Las Vegas with a master’s degree in special education and early childhood development. She teaches special education and is the department chairwoman for special education at Tarkanian Middle School in Las Vegas.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Denise Mapes and the late Mikel Mapes of Newberg. He is a 2000 Newberg High School graduate and graduated from UNLV in 2005 with a marketing and communications degree. He works for Turnberry Associates in Las Vegas as a marketing coordinator.
   The couple met in 2001 while attending UNLV. He proposed at a jazz club while vacationing in New Orleans.
   The couple will reside in Las Vegas.

Saddoris, Olson
   Marcie Saddoris and Randall Olson, both of Newberg, have announced their plans to marry Sept. 9 at Crabtree Park in Dundee.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Jannie and Richard Saddoris of Dundee.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Joni Bates of Alaska. He is serving in the U.S. Army.
   The couple are lifelong friends.

   Haley Heath and Joseph Bush, both of Newberg, have announced their plans to marry Sept. 15 at the home of the bride’s parents.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Vickie and Charles Heath of Newberg. She is a 2004 Newberg High School graduate and 2006 graduate of Beau Monde College of Beauty. She works at Great Clips in Newberg.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Terry Evenson of Vancouver, Wash., and Jim Bush of Newberg. He is a 1998 graduate of Evergreen High School and a 2002 graduate of BCTI Trade School. He works at Les Schwab Tires in Newberg.
   The couple plans to honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico.

Rivard, Cook
   Robyn Rivard of Ottawa, Canada, and Mikel Cook of Everett, Wash., have announced their plans to marry Aug. 31 in Ottawa.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Sandie and Lindsay Rivard of Orleans, Ontario. She is a 2005 graduate of the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, where she majored in international relations.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Kathy and Mark Cook of Everett, Wash. He is a 1994 Newberg High School graduate and is a security manager stationed at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station in Oak Harbor, Wash.
   The couple met while working at NATO in Brussels, Belgium. He proposed at the Eiffel Tower in Paris. They plan to make their home in Everett.

Roberts, Opitz

   Heather Roberts and Kyle Opitz, both of McMinnville, have announced their plans to marry Aug. 10 at Willamette Valley Vineyards.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Karen and Bruce Roberts of McMinnville. She is a medical assistant at West Hills Healthcare Clinic.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Nancy Marugg of Newberg and Ed Opitz of Dundee. He is employed by Gormley Plumbing and Heating.
   The couple met during summer 2003 through mutual friends. The marriage was proposed Christmas Eve 2006 in front of a Christmas tree.

Schaad, Ringseth

   Katie Schaad and James Ringseth, both of Newberg, have announced their plans to marry Sept. 28 in Cannon Beach.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Karol Schaad of Bend and Steve Schaad of Newberg. She graduated from Central Oregon Community College in 2006 and plans to attend cosmetology school in October.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Jim and Genese Ringseth of Newberg. He graduated from Newberg High School in 2004 and is pursuing a career in youth ministry.
   The couple met in high school.

Soto, Helbig
  Shawnta Soto of Newberg and Jason Helbig of Sherwood have announced their plans to marry in fall 2008.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Maggie and Todd Dennett of Dayton. She graduated from Newberg High School in 2003 and works for American Family Insurance in Tigard.
   The groom-to-be is the son Cindy and Ron Helbig of Sherwood. He graduated from Sherwood High School in 1996 and works at Factory Motor Sports in Oregon City.
   The couple met through mutual friends and live in Beaverton.

Taennler, Hansen
   Elyse Taennler of Wilsonville and Travis Hansen of Newberg have announced their plans to marry June 21, 2008, at the Lake Grove Presbyterian Church.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Maribeth and Bill Taennler of Wilsonville. She is a 2006 Newberg High School graduate and majors in English and secondary education at Linfield College.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Kelly and Greg Hansen of Newberg. He is a 1999 Newberg High School graduate and is employed by A-dec Inc.
   The couple met through friends. They are planning an evening wedding with reception at the Willamette Valley Country Club in Canby.

   Alexandra Beecroft of Newberg and Brian Milbourn of Lakebay, Wash., have announced their plans to marry on a date not yet set.
The bride-to-be’s parents are Laurie Ross and the late Mark Beecroft. She graduated from Newberg High School in 2000 and Pacific Lutheran University in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in sociology.
   The groom-to-be’s parents are Judy Hawkins of Puyallup, Wash., and Ron Milbourn of University Place, Wash. He graduated from Peninsula High School in 1999 and Pacific Lutheran University in 2004 with a double major in sociology and philosophy.
   The couple met while attending PLU.

   Jennifer Whited and Ken Lemke, both of Newberg, have announced their plans to marry Sept. 22 at Chehalem Valley Baptist Church.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mike and Ellen Whited of Newberg. She graduated from Newberg High School in 2003 and Oregon State University in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sport science. She works for Club Sport in Tualatin.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Greg and Lyn Lemke of Newberg. He works for the Chehalem Park and Recreation District.
   The couple met when working for the park district.

Dull, Morrison
   Tanya Dull of Newberg and Sean Morrison of Custer, Wash., have announced their plans to marry Aug. 25 in Hovander Park in Ferndale, Wash.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Barbara and Brian Dull of Newberg. She graduated from Newberg High School in 2003 and earned in 2007 a bachelor’s degree in business with a concentration in marketing from Seattle Pacific University. She plans to attend graduate school this winter to earn an MBA.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Jeanne and Mike LaCasse of Blaine, Wash., and Courtney Morrison of Custer, Wash. He graduated from Ferndale High School in 2004. He is majoring in Spanish and computer science at Whitworth University and expects to graduate in 2009. He is also a cadet in the Army ROTC.
   The couple met through a mutual friend.

   Courtney Ann Vaughn and Scott Benjamin Hein, both of Newberg, have announced their plans to marry Aug. 11 in a country setting.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Terry and Sylvia Vaughn of Newberg. She graduated from Newberg High School and is an aesthetician.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Stan and Chris Hein of Newberg. He graduated from Newberg High School and is a physical therapist.
   The couple’s engagement party was held at the Tigard home of David and Adina McFarlane. The couple plan to honeymoon in the Caribbean.

Schneider, Williams
   Kylee Schneider of St. Paul and Ronnie Williams of Salem have announced their plans to marry Sept. 6, 2008.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Nick and Tina Schneider of St. Paul. She graduated from St. Paul High School in 2002 and will graduate from the radiography program at Portland Community College in August 2008.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Ronald and Linda Williams of Salem. He graduated from McKay High School in 2000 and holds a paramedic degree from Chemeketa Community College.
   The couple met while working at Silverton Hospital.

Heimbach, Lentz
   Shelby Heimbach of Dundee and Josh Lentz of Oconomowoc, Wis., have announced their plan to marry on Sept. 1 in Woodinville, Wash.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Arnie and Ginger Heimbach of Dundee. She graduated from Newberg High School and Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Wash. She is the marketing communications manager for Simpson Strong-Tie.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Rick and Dena Lentz of Oconomowoc, and Linda and Nick Boyer of Phelps, Wis. He graduated from Oconomowoc High School and University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He is a regional account manager for Cygnus publishing company.
   The couple met through their work in similar industries and were engaged last fall in Seattle.

   Melissa Ann Turpen and Richard Lee Decker II, both of Wenatchee, Wash., have announced their plans to marry Aug. 25 at the Yaquina Bay lighthouse in Newport.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Richard and Dee Miller of Newberg. She graduated from Newberg High School in 1997 and works for Wilbur Ellis Company in Wenatchee.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Patricia Decker. He graduated from Eastmont High School in 1999 and Devry University in 2005. He works for Northwest Telephone in Wenatchee.

Brady, Platt
   Katrina Brady of Gresham and Gordon Platt of Newberg have announced their plans to marry June 30 at the Latter-day Saints Temple in Lake Oswego.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of John and Shelly Brady of Gresham. She graduated from Centennial High School in 2005. She attends Brigham Young University in Laie, Hawaii, majoring in education.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Gene and Arlene Platt of Newberg. He graduated from Newberg High School in 2003 and served on an LDS mission to the Philippines from 2004 to 2006. He attends BYU-Hawaii, majoring in history, and plans to attend law school following graduation.
   The couple met while grocery shopping on North Shore Oahu. A luau will be held to celebrate their marriage at the Newberg LDS Church from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 11.

Culala, Sanderson
   Tara Culala of Newberg and Stephen Sanderson of Newberg have announced their plans to marry Oct. 14 in Portland.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Linda and Mikeal Culala of Grover Beach, Calif. She graduated from Vanguard University with a bachelor’s degree in 2001 and George Fox University with an master’s degree in 2004. She is enrolled in a doctoral program and anticipates to graduate in 2008.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Susan and Shane Sanderson of Mt. Vernon, Wash. He graduated from George Fox University in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree and subsequently earned a master’s degree in education. He works at Chehalem Youth and Family Services.
   The couple met through mutual coworkers at CYFS.

Swanborough, Hricik
   Jennifer Swanborough of Whitsett, N.C., and David Hricik of Raleigh, N.C., have announced their plans to marry Aug. 18 at Temple Baptist Church in Portland.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Norma and Allan Swanborough of McMinnville. She graduated from McMinnville High School in 1990 and from George Fox University in 1994. She was employed by George Fox University for almost 10 years and currently works as a consultant for Performa Higher Education in Burlington, N.C.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Margaret and Jan Hricik of Grand Rapids, Mich. He graduated from Michigan State University in 1999 and is employed as a packaging engineer for GlaxoSmithKline in North Carolina.
   The couple met through mutual friends in Indianapolis.

   Jessica Braund and Mark Hesedahl, both of Tualatin, have announced their plans to marry June 30 at the Jenkins Estate in Aloha.
   The bride-to-be graduated in June 2005 from Oregon State University with a degree in human development and family services. She works as a sales and service specialist at a bank. She is the daughter of Teresa and Joseph Braund of Beaverton.
   The groom-to-be graduated in June 2006 from Western Oregon University with a degree in health education. He is now seeking a master’s degree in health education at WOU. He works in sales. He is the son of Patricia and Chris Hesedahl of Newberg.
   The two met while working at a Quiznos store in Corvallis.

   Nickole Bosma of Zillah, Wash., and Justin Smith of Newberg have announced their plans to marry May 19 at Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Angie Bosma of Yakima and Steve and Julie Bosma of Granger, Wash. She holds an undergraduate degree from George Fox University and is enrolled in the school’s nursing program. She works as a dialysis technician.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Norbert and Mary Smith of Newberg. He is a graduate of Newberg High School and Oregon State University. He is co-owner of NRS Construction of Newberg.

   Kristen Tesky and Robert Smith, both of McMinnville, have announced their plan to marry April 16 in Jamaica.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Cheryl Woodside of Newberg and Lynn Tesky of Keizer. She is a 2003 graduate of Newberg High School and works at Coldwater Creek Spa as a nail technician.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Glena Smith and Ernist Smith of Dayton. He is a 1993 graduate of Dayton High School and is a carpenter.
   The couple met at the wedding of Robert’s brother Anthony and Kristen’s longtime friend Jennifer, where they served as best man and maid of honor. The couple will take a cruise to Jamaica, getting married on the beach in the sand while the ship is in port. Wedding guests will be best man Sam Pyne and matron of honor Shiloh Pyne.

   Angela Luce and Jamie Harvey, both of Newberg, have announced their plans to marry March 12 in Newberg.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Letecia and Kenneth Luce of Dundee. She is a 1994 graduate of Newberg High School and is employed at Suntron Corp.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Sue and Rodney Miller of Brooks. He is a 1993 graduate of Gervais High School and is employed in Portland as a delivery driver.
   The couple met while working in Portland and have two children, Jennifer-Ann, 14, and Trysten, 12.

   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Kelly and Gary McGrew of Newberg. She is a 2004 graduate of Newberg High School and is employed at A-dec as a stock handler.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Bonnie Gallipeau, deceased, and Gary Gallipeau of Boise, Idaho. He is a 2004 graduate of NHS and is employed at Meyer Sign Co. of Oregon as a sign fabricator.
   The couple have been friends since the first grade and were high school sweethearts. They became engaged at the bride-to-be’s 20th birthday celebration in July of 2006, where she received a “Will you marry me?” cake instead of a birthday cake.

   Melissa Youngberg of Carlton and Daniel Weckhorst of Newberg have announced their plans to wed July 7, 2007, at the Newberg First Baptist Church.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Wayne and Harlene Youngberg of Carlton. She attended George Fox University, and is employed at David’s Bridal.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Donald and Karen Weckhorst of Honolulu, Hawaii. He attends George Fox University.
   The couple met during George Fox University’s fall 2005 production of Machinal.

   Abby Schow of Longmont, Colo. and Nick Mears of Newberg, have announced their plan to wed April 30, 2007, in Broomfield, Colo.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Janice and Randy Schow of Longmont. She is a 2002 graduate of Faith Baptist School in Longmont, and 2006 graduate of Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond, Okla.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Pam and Greg Mears of Newberg. He is a 2002 Newberg High School Graduate and 2006 grad of Oklahoma Christian University.
   The pair met through their older brothers.

   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Roy Johnson of Coos Bay and Joyce Johnson, deceased. She is an employee of SAIF Corp. in Tigard.
   The groom-to-be is the son of June and Kenneth Hayden, both deceased. He is employed at Platt Electric in Beaverton.
   The couple, once neighbors in Newberg, met through Loren’s mom and Cheryl’s daughter.
   The wedding will be held on the same date that Cheryl’s parents were married.

   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Roberta Thurow of Newberg and Donald Gresham of Siletz. She works as an AP manager at Huntair Inc. and is a volunteer firefighter/emergency medical technician with the Newberg Fire Department.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Elva Gray of Lakeview and Rocky Gray of Beaverton. He is employed as a buyer/expediter for Huntair.
   The couple were introduced by the bride-to-be’s brother.

   Kimberly Meithof of Newberg and Matthew Probst of Klamath Falls recently announced their plan to marry in September in Bend.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Carolyn and Rolland Meithof of Bend. She is a 1996 graduate of Newberg High School and 2001 graduate of Southern Oregon University where she received a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a minor in photography.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Sharon and Robert Probst of Klamath Falls. He is a 1995 graduate of Mazama High School in Klamath Falls and is an aircraft hydraulics technician serving at Kingsley Field in Klamath Falls.
   The couple met at the wedding of friends.

Whitman, Kimmell
   Katie Whitman of Newberg and Robert Kimmell of Gaston have announced their plans to marry on Aug. 24 at Elk Cove Vineyards in Gaston.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Tracy and Doug Whitman of Newberg. She is a 2003 graduate of Newberg High School and a marketing, finance and merchandising management student at Oregon State University. She plans to graduate this year.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Janet and Rodney Kimmell of Gaston. He is a 2003 graduate of Gaston High School and a chemical engineering student at OSU. After graduation in June, he plans to return to OSU for a masters degree.

   First Lt. Heather Doyle of Fort Hood, Texas, and First Lt. Michael Seminelli of Fort Irwin, Calif., have announced their plans to marry at West Point, N.Y., in the fall.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of John and Christine Doyle of Newberg. She is a 2001 graduate of Newberg High School, a 2005 graduate of West Point with a bachelor of science in aeronautical engineering and a 2006 graduate of the United States Army flight school. She is stationed in the 4th Infantry Division combat aviation brigade at Fort Hood, where she pilots Blackhawk helicopters
   The groom-to-be is the son of Nello and Ivana Seminelli of Congers, N.Y. He is a 2001 graduate of Clarkstown North High School, a 2005 graduate of West Point with a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering and is a tank platoon leader stationed at Fort Irwin in D Company, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment.
   The couple met while cadets at West Point.

   Shannon Hinkle and Paul Buckmaster, both of Newberg, have announced plans to marry July 7 in Newberg.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Tina Pickell of Longview, Wash., and Neil and Sue Vandehey of Vernonia. She is a 1999 graduate of R.A. Long High School in Longview, graduated in 2002 from George Fox University with a bachelor’s degree in religion and in 2005 from Yale University with a master’s degree in divinity.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Jill and Terry Buckmaster of Newberg. He is a 1999 graduate of Newberg High School and graduated from Clackamas Community College in 2004 as a journeyman electrician. He is employed at SP Newsprint as an electrician.
   The couple were introduced by the groom’s uncle. The groom-to-be proposed on top of Bennett Peak in the Wallowa Mountains during an archery deer hunting trip.

Taylor, Pennock
   Danica Taylor of Bend and Robert Pennock of Newberg have announced their plans to marry in June at Aspen Hall in Bend.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Tange and Jim Taylor of Bend. She graduated from Bend High School in 2001 and from Western Oregon University in 2005. She is employed as a human resource supervisor.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Kathy and Bert Pennock of Newberg. He graduated from Newberg High School in 1998 and WOU in 2006. He begins training with the Bend Police Department in January.
   The couple met at WOU.

   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Paul and Heidi Sullivan of Hillsboro. She is a 2002 graduate of Newberg High School and expects to graduate from Oregon State University in June with a degree in early childhood education and in communications.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Roger and Nancy Sherwood of Scappoose. He is a 2000 graduate of Scappoose High School and attends Linn-Benton Community College.
   The couple met through friends at college.

   Katie Robeson and Ryan Woolfe of Newberg have announced their plans to marry July 29 at The Empress Palace in Woodland, Wash.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Paul and Myla Natvig of Newberg. She is a 2003 graduate of Newberg High School and a 2005 graduate of Phagans School of Hair Design. She is employed at Magnum Opus Salon in Portland.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Greg and Janie Woolfe of Tigard. He is a 2003 graduate of Tigard High School and is enrolled in an electrical apprenticeship program.
   The couple met in high school while attending a church youth group event. They have dated for six years. The groom has purchased a home in Newberg.

   Rachel Dodson of Portland and Ian Daniels of Groton, N.Y., have announced their plans to marry in summer 2007.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Steve and Nancy Dodson of Newberg. She is a 2000 graduate of Newberg High School and attends Portland State University.
   The groom-to-be is the son of David and Charlene Daniels of Horseheads, N.Y. He is a 2001 Groton Central High School graduate and 2005 graduate of Clemson University.

   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Kathleen and Antonio Fernandez II of Newberg. She received a bachelor of arts degree from Gonzaga University and is a master of arts in teaching student at George Fox University. She will graduate in 2007.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Laura O’Haver and Larry Milne of Leavenworth, Wash. He attended Occidental College and Wenatchee Valley College, where he graduated in 1995. He is a field manager at True Green Land Care in Hillsboro.
   The couple met in San Francisco at an engagement party for the bride-to-be’s older brother.

Stern, McBride
   Stacey Stern and Ryan McBride of Eugene have recently announced their plans to marry in 2007.
  The bride-to-be is the daughter of Robin and Bob Stern of Newberg. She is a 2004 graduate of Newberg High School and presently attends Lane Community College in its medical office assistant program. She expects to graduate in 2007.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Mary McBride of Newberg and Mark McBride and Amy Bryan of Dundee. He is a 2004 graduate of NHS and presently attends LCC in the construction technology program.
   The couple plans to marry after graduation. They met as seniors at NHS. Ryan proposed on a Mexico cruise.

   Jenny Thurman and Bryan Cowan, both of Newberg, have announced their plan to wed Sept. 1 at the Beckenridge Vineyard in Dallas.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Bruce Shelton of Ontario. She is a 2002 graduate of Newberg High School and attends the University of Portland. She hopes to graduate in 2007 with a bachelor’s of science degree in nursing.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Kevin and Lori Lane of Newberg and Matt and Tamara Cowan of Sherwood. He is a 2002 graduate of NHS and is employed by True Form Collision as a painter.

   Brittany Allen and Jeremy Quinby, both of Newberg, have announced their plans to marry Aug. 12 at the Surfsand Resort in Cannon Beach.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Scott and Diane Allen of Newberg. She is a 2004 graduate of Newberg High School and attends Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, where she plans to graduate in May. She then plans to obtain a masters of arts in teaching degree in secondary education.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Larry and Lori Seaman and the late Gerald Quinby of Newberg. He is a 2004 graduate of NHS and is taking classes at Chemeketa Community College, where he hopes to receive an associates of arts transfer degree. He is employed as a construction supervisor with Highmeadow Homes in Newberg.
   The couple met in high school and were engaged in May when they purchased a yellow Labrador puppy named Bailey.

Aug. 30
Peffers, Pack
   Leah Peffers and Christopher Pack, both of Newberg, have announced their plan to marry Sept. 23 at The Oak Grove in St. Paul.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Lynn Clouser Holt of Newberg and Kevin Clouser of Lake Oswego. She is a 1998 graduate of Newberg High School and owner of Sweet Nellies Flowers.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Sharon and Ken Pack of Newberg. He graduated from Newberg High School in 1992 and from Oregon State University in 1996. He is employed at Western Freezer.
   The couple met at Gold’s Gym.

Aug. 23
Ford, Beard
   Jennifer Ford and Justin Beard, both of Corvallis, have announced their plans to marry Sept. 9 at Holy Cross Lutheran church in Salem.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Norma Hotaling and Wesley Ford in Newberg. She is a 2003 graduate of Newberg High School and attends Linn-Benton Community College as a human biology major.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Janet Kizer and Aaron Beard of the Corvallis area. He attended Oregon State University and is employed as a contractor.
   The couple met through a mutual friend and family member. Beard proposed with a clue-led scavenger hunt that lead to memorable places for the couple and ended at a park in Corvallis.

Cheshire, Scholz
   Jodie Reel of Cheshire and Jeremy Scholz of Newberg have announced their plans to marry Jan. 6 at a place yet to be announced.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Marie and Jim Reel of Cheshire. She is a 2001 graduate of Mollala High School and a 2006 graduate of Oregon State University. She is employed as a controller at Grabhorn Inc.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Mary Ann and Gregg Scholz of Newberg. He is a 2001 graduate of Newberg High School and a 2006 graduate of OSU. He is employed as a sales associate at REI.
   The couple met at the climbing gym at OSU.

   Heather Praus and John Kroo of Newberg recently announced their plans to marry on June 29, 2007.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Alice and Charles   Stephens of Long Beach, Calif., and Stephen Himes of Newberg. She is employed as an administrative assistant.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Elizabeth and John Kroo of Newberg. He is employed as a general contractor.
   The couple met at a party at a mutual friend’s house.

Tannery, Johnson
   Christy Tannery and Brent Johnson, both of Newberg, recently announced their plans to marry on May 19, 2007.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Max and Tami Tannery of Newberg and graduated from Newberg High School in 2000. She works at her family’s business.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Larry and Linda Johnson of Newberg. He graduated from Newberg High School in 1989, attended George Fox University and is co-owner of Johnson Flooring.

   Aubrei Taennler of Wilsonville and Keith Mathies of Aurora have announced their plans to marry Sept. 2 in the garden of Ed and Jeanne Gaylord in Wilsonville.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Maribeth and Bill Taennler of Wilsonville. She is a 2004 graduate of Newberg High School and attends Pioneer Pacific College in Wilsonville as an accounting major. She is employed in the accounting department at Lumbermen’s in Newberg.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Sharon and Michael Mathies of Aurora. He is a 2003 graduate of North Marion High School and is employed by Naturescaping.
The couple met at the Community of Hope Lutheran Church in Wilsonville.

Baldoni, Wilcox
   April Baldoni and Brad Wilcox of Dayton have announced their plans to marry Sept. 16 at Vows With a View near Amity.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Nelda and Lane Baldoni of McMinnville. She graduated from Newberg High School in 1995 and attends the College of Legal Arts where she will graduate in September.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Denise and Randy Wilcox of McMinnville. He is a 1997 graduate of McMinnville High School and received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Oregon State University in 2002. He is employed at a geotechnical consulting company in Tigard.
   The couple met at a birthday party for his cousin, who is also a friend of her’s.

Caffall, Valleton
   Jana Caffall and Nick Valleton of Newberg recently announced their plans to marry Aug. 5 at Stoller Vineyard in Dayton.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Kathy and Douglas Caffall of Newberg. She graduated in 1999 from Newberg High School and in 2003 from Linfield College. She now attends Lewis & Clark College graduate school. She is a third-grade teacher at Antonia Crater Elementary.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Gregory and Abby Valleton of Tacoma and Stephanie Valleton and Paul Rusciolelli of Dundee. He is a 1998 NHS graduate and is currently enrolled at Grantham University. He is an employee of American Heating and a member of the United States Army National Guard.
   The couple met in high school.

Feinauer, Davis
   Emilie Feinauer of Buena Vista, Va., and Logan Davis of Edgewood, Wash., recently announced their plan to marry Aug. 9 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lake Oswego.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of John and Etta Feinauer of Newberg. She graduated from Newberg High School in 2003. She graduated from Southern Virginia University in 2006 and is currently an administrative assistant there.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Tad and Connie Davis of Edgewood, Wash. He graduated from Puyallup High School in 2002 and served as a missionary to Ethiopia and Uganda for the Mormon church from June 2003 to June 2005. He currently attends Southern Virginia University.
   The couple met while attending the university.

   Sky Portis-Cathers of Newberg and Matthew Leady of Lafayette, Colo., recently announced their plan to marry July 1 at Deepwood Estates in Salem.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Deborah Cathers-Seymour of Newberg and Dan Portis-Cathers of Portland. She is a student at Pacific University and expects to graduate spring 2007.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Gina Vavra of Anderson, S.C., and Steve Leady of Lafayette, Colo. He is a student at Pacific and will graduate in spring 2007.
   The couple met as sophomores at Pacific when they were both serving as resident assistants.

   Katy Schnitker and Kyle Turpen, both of Newberg, have announced their plans to marry July 9 at Aramenta Cellars in Newberg.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Donna and Mike Schnitker of Burns. She is a 1997 graduate of Burns High School. She holds bachelors and masters degrees from George Fox University and is employed at Dunaway Middle School in McMinnville. She is a member of the Frank Messina Big Band and of the Newberg Christian Fellowship Worship Team.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Judy and Hal Turpen of Newberg. He graduated from Newberg High School in 1994 and attended the College of the Siskyous. He graduated from the Boston Fire Academy in 2004 and is employed at the Saunders Company as a superintendent. He serves as a volunteer firefighter for the Newberg Fire Department and is a member of the Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue Drum and Pipe Band.
   The couple met through a mutual friend.

Ogden, Moore
   Nita Ogden and Justin Moore, both of Vancouver, Wash., have announced their plans to marry July 29 at Crabtree Park near Dundee.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Rae McFarland of Lebanon and the late Glenn Ogden. She is a 1992 graduate of North Salem High School and a homemaker.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Shirley Moore and the late Mark Moore of Vancouver. He is a 1999 graduate of Tillamook High School. He is employed at the Vancouver Parr Lumber.
   The couple, former Newberg residents, met while working at the Newberg Fred Meyer store.

   Selah Stranz and Lance Crpl. Jeremy Dutton, both of San Diego, Calif., have announced their plan to marry June 17 at the City Bible Church in Portland.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Pastor Fritz and Wendy Stranz of Hood River. She is a graduate of The Dalles High School and the Linfield School of Nursing and works as a registered nurse at San Diego Children’s Hospital.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Rick and Terri Dutton of Dundee. He graduated from Newberg High School and is serving in the United States Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton in San Diego in field artillery survey.
   The couple announced their plans to wed this past Christmas.

   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Linda and Michael Barnhart of Dundee. She is a 2001 graduate of Newberg High School and will graduate from Oregon State University in June with a masters degree in education.
   The-groom-to-be is the son of Dolores Cadotte of Newberg and Rick Cadotte of Rhododendron. He is a 2000 graduate of NHS and is employed at Winco.

   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Linda and Jim Ramirez of Dundee. She graduated from Newberg High School in 2001 and Mt. Hood Community College in 2005. She is employed at Oregon Health and Sciences University as a surgical technologist.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Sue and Rob Jones of Silverton. He graduated from McNary High School in 2001 and expects to graduate from Portland State University in June with a double major in accounting and political science.

   Traci Shinn of Dallas and Matthew Briggs of Newberg have announced their plans to marry July 15 at Faith Evangelical Church in Dallas.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Colleen and Kevin Shinn of Dallas. She graduated from Dallas High School in 2002 and works as a receptionist at Flaming Medical Center in Dallas.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Tamara and David Briggs of Newberg. He graduated from Newberg High School in 2002 and is employed by Brinks Security in Reno.
   The couple met by e-mail after being introduced by the groom’s sister who works at Flaming Medical Center.

   Melissa Boeckman of Newberg and Jesus Gonzalez of Sherwood have announced their plans to marry Nov. 4.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Sharon and Bruce Boeckman of Newberg. She graduated from Newberg High School in 2001 and is employed by R&W Engineering in Beaverton.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Angelina and Oscar Gonzalez of St. Helens. He attended Sherwood High School and is employed by High Temp in Portland.

   Emily Boeckman and Aaron Lewis, both of Newberg, have announced their plans to marry July 8 at Newberg Christian Church.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Sharon and Bruce Boeckman of Newberg. She graduated from Newberg High School in 2004 and is employed by Astor House in Newberg.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Heather and Dennis Lewis of Newberg. He graduated from NHS in 2004 and is employed at Lewis Audio Video.

Harris, Tuning

   Amy Harris of Madras and Joel Tuning of Newberg have announced their plans to marry July 22 in Madras.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Doug and Sara Harris of Madras. She graduated from Madras High School in 2002 and will graduate from George Fox University in April with a degree in elementary education.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Ron and Lori Tuning of Newberg. He graduated from Newberg high School in 2001 and the Chemeketa Fire Academy in 2005. He is a firefighter at the McMurdo Station in Antarctica.
   The couple met at a Twin Rocks Friends Camp on Rockaway Beach, where both were serving as members of the summer staff.
   The couple will make their home at the McMurdo Station while Joel continues his firefighting job; Amy will be a member of the support staff.

   Amy Coles of McMinnville and Bert Hanifan of Newberg recently announced their plans to marry in August at Linfield College.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Rhea Coles of McMinnville, granddaughter of Lester and Nada Coles of Union and great-granddaughter of Custus Coles of Union. She is a 2000 home school graduate. She then graduated in 2005 from Chemeketa Community College. She is a firefighter/paramedic at the McMinnville Fire Department.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Mary Ann Hanifan of Newberg and grandson of Jack and Mary Mullen of St. Paul. He is a 2000 graduate of Newberg High School and is employed at A-Dec Inc. as a building maintenance electrician.
   The couple met at an emergency medical technician class.

Reilly, Ayala
   Heather Reilly and Adolfo Ayala Escamilla will marry Aug. 12 at Northside Community Church.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Dennis and Denise Reilly of Newberg. She graduated from Newberg High School in 1998 and from Azuza Pacific University in 2002. She is in her fourth year of doctoral studies at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Adolfo and Isabel Ayala of Boca Raton, Fla. He graduated from Southside High School in Fort Smith, Ark., in 1999 and from the University of Arkansas in 2002. He is also in his fourth year of doctoral studies at Notre Dame.

Roemhildt, Pioch
   Rachel Roemhildt and Mitchell Pioch will marry June 10 at the Community Baptist Church in Cordova, Alaska.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Kenneth and Aino Roemhildt of Cordova. She is a graduate of Northwest Nazarene University and is a teacher at the Soldotna Middle School in Soldotna, Alaska.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Jack Pioch of Prineville and Anne Lanning of Newberg. He is a graduate of George Fox University and is the principal in the lower Kuskokwim School District in Alaska.

   Anna Zolotoff and Bobby Merwin, both of Hermiston, announced their plans to marry July 8 at Rex Hill Winery.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Patty and Terry Zolotoff of Newberg. She graduated from Newberg High School in 1998, Pacific University in 2002 and Eastern Oregon University in 2004. She teaches language arts at Echo High School.
   The groom-to-be is the son of the late Hilde Merwin, and CarolLee Merwin and Robert Merwin of Portland. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1988, Portland Community College in 1994 and is studying at EOU to become a high school history and health teacher.
   The couple met while acting in a production of “Crazy for You” at College Community Theatre in Pendleton.

   Nicole Kirkbride and Eric Raber, both of Newberg, have announced their plans to marry Aug. 5 at the River Street Church of God.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of DeVonne and Tom Knoch of Newberg. She is a 2001 graduate of Newberg High School and is employed at Beaverton Ford as a file clerk.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Nancy Raber of Gresham. He is a 1990 graduate of Aloha High School and is employed at Extreme Cycle as a motorcycle technician.
   The couple met when Kirkbride brought her ATV into Extreme Cycle to have it serviced. They enjoy camping, fishing and spending time outdoors.

   Elizabeth Wolf of St. Paul and Brandon Nguyen of Spokane have announced their plan to marry on June 24 at the St. Paul Catholic Church.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Theresa and James Wolf of St. Paul. She is an Oregon State University student working toward a doctorate in veterinary medicine. She expects to graduate in May.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Cindy and Tan Nguyen of Spokane. He is pursuing a degree in construction engineering management and is dually enrolled at Linn-Benton Community College and Oregon State University.
   The couple met on New Year’s Eve 2001.

Gibbens, Anderson
   Lori Gibbens of Hillsboro and Scott Anderson of Amity have announced their plan to marry June 30 at the St. Chapelle Winery in Caldwell, Idaho.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Shirley and Dan Gibbens of Caldwell. She graduated from Vallivue High School in Caldwell in 1996 and Pacific University in Forest Grove in 2000. She is employed at Intel Corp. as a process integration technician.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Ronni and David Anderson of McMinnville. He graduated from Newberg High School in 1994 and Palm Beach Atlantic College in North Palm Beach, Fla., in 1999. He is employed at Columbia Knife & Tool as a warehouse manager.
   The couple met through the Web site, www.eharmony.com. Anderson proposed at Christmas, hiding the ring in a pocket of her gift, a pair of pajamas.

   Janel Jeffery of Yakima, Wash, and formerly of Newberg, and Jason Tucker of Tieton, Wash., plan to marry July 15 at the West Side Baptist Church in Yakima.
   The bride-to-be attended George Fox University, is employed at Yakima Union Gospel Mission and attends West Side Baptist Church, where she leads worship.
   Tucker attended Central Washington University, is employed at Irwin Research Center and has plans to begin an excavating company. He also attends West Side Baptist Church.

   The groom-to-be is the son of Donna Henry of Vancouver, Wash., and Dan Henry of Buckeye, Ariz. He is a 2000 graduate of Prairie High School in Vancouver and is working toward a fire science/emergency medical technician degree at Portland Community College. He is employed at Stanton International and is an a NFD volunteer firefighter.

   Sara Breeding of Newberg and Jacob Strickler of Beaverton recently announced their plans to marry April 21, 2007, at the First Baptist Church in Newberg.
   The bride-to-be is the daughter of Roseanna and Tim Breeding of Newberg. She is a 2001 Newberg High School graduate and attends Pioneer Pacific College. She is employed as a CNA.
   The groom-to-be is the son of Liann and Mike Strickler of Beaverton. He attended Southridge High School and works at Taco Bell in Newberg.
